My feeling about Hong Kong

This is the place where I was born, I grew up. I always think Hong Kong is a very beautiful city, no matter how many countries i have been, no matter how i fall in love with other countries, places. The reconstruction of the Central Pier may replace the old one, I mean the functionwise only, we can still take the star ferry to our destination, but the building itself has no history! I love to take ferry from Hong Kong Island to Tsim Sha Tsui if I have time. I remember when i was young, taking ferry is a "long" journey to me, but the reclaimation changed the view of Victoria Harbour already! Luckily, the Clock Tower in TST is still "alive" even though lots of construction work happens around it, I do hope the clock tower can stay with me forever ... lourdes

my first train pass

we havent uploaded any photos for a period of time. i also reduce the rate of uploading photos recently because i want to search photos which is touching or meaningful to me.

this photo is very meaningful to me. it is the first train pass in my life.

i went to northern ireland as exchange student in 1997. i started travelling as a free walker since then.

before i bought this ticket, i only stayed at belfast, the capital of northern ireland for nearly a month. everyday just walked between my school, the supermarket and city centre. i dare not go any further beyond the city boundaries as i was afraid of getting lost in the country new to me.

after i bought this ticket, i liberated myself physically and mentally. it allowed me to take public buses and trains unlimitedly within northern ireland when the ticket was valid. during that week, i tried my best to reach every part of northern ireland. i enjoyed that period of time despite i was only a lonely travel walker then.

the pass is meaningful to me because it made me believe that i can travel as a free walker and the world can be reached easily only if u are willing to make a first step.....................................................gunwai

Warm Post Office in Barrow

The only post office in Barrow, it is located just behind the lovely road sign (I am sure you can't see this road sign in Asia), no letter box, no postman!!! I love this place so much, so i couldn't stop from sending myself the postcard on 2007 Valentine's Day --- :P ... lourdes

remember eddie posted a photo with a lot of postcards. i also enjoy the feeling of sending and receiving postcards. it is not only a piece of paper with stamps and photos but also a way to share the joyfulness with those friends and relatives far away. in order to share the joy of travelling, a letter box is nearly necessary in every case so i am very interested to take a photo about letter box or post office. this is the letter box in male international airport..................................gunwai

Peking Road

I have a terrible experience first time I visited mainland China when I was 12. Freezing cold

weather, rain, awful foods, dirty hotel & horrible 12 hours bus jounrey to the birth place of my

father. Before when you ask me will you visit China? I'll say of course not. But time after time,

China has changed a lots & I try to visited some places now, I felt totally different. I worked in

Salisbury Road for a short time, then Hollywood & Portland Street... but I'm more enjoy working

at Peking Road now ! ;) ... Eddie

Beijing

For me, travelling is not just sightseeing, I also want to see and feel how the people live there. Moreover, even the same country, go there at different time, it will also give you different feelings, because you will never know what will you see and who will you meet.
I have been to Beijing twice, the first time when I was in Primary 6, I knew nothing about the Chinese History, but I got a chance to live in my aunt's house which is inside Beijing Intitute of Education, so I can see and feel how's the living of local Beijing people. The second time when I was 2x years old, I knew more about Chinese history, so when I visited some historical places, I got different feelings from the first time.
This is the video I took in Jingshan, I love those Beijing peoples sang the old chinese songs inside the Park, because it's kind of "民族感".
At last, I want to say if I said I love one country, not just because what places I can visit there, but also the people I met or even the people I travelled with ...... Zita

最近整理旅行相片,看見了很多舊相,一張不起眼的北京西城區胡同街景引起了我的注意.

它的主題是間幼稚園,很有老北京風味.這間幼稚園是我堂弟讀過的.

我七九年也在北京讀過幼稚園,我的那間跟這間差不多,隔兩條馬路,不過已經拆了.

北京是我出生的地方,對它很有感情.每次離開那里都有相哭的感覺.小時候,淚水從眼里出,長大了,眼淚在心里留.

嚴格來說我不是北京人,我祖父來自河北,我的母語是粵語.我在北京居住的時間只是七三到七六,七九到八零年.

離開北京二十七年了,總會想起外婆教我的一首詩.她六十年代是九龍一間中學老師,很喜歡文學,她說我一定要記住這首詩.

少小離家老大回，

鄉音無改鬢毛摧。

兒童相見不相識，

笑問客從何處來

這是我對北京的情感,只會隨歲月增加,不會被時間沖淡.

我願意在這里上載很多北京的照片,和大家分享我對它的感覺,或許我能讓大家看到北京另一個角度......................................................................................................................gunwai

you may say i am a dreamer but i am not the only one

I was stand alone. I heard one of my friend says "I will not stupid like that, you spend that a lots of money for the trip to Maldives to see just the beach ? Thailand with so many beautiful beaches... haha !"...well, I didn't say anything...yes, perhaps when we have full of Tokyo shopping lovers in this city, maybe I am stupid when compare with them. But day after day, year after year, I've got more & more friends around me understood my feeling about Maldives, why I love Maldives & why I dream of her... My "souvenir" from Cocoa

All my "souvenir" are "free"... the new slippers with the "cocoa island" at the back, and the small bottle of free shower gel, I used this bottle during my trip and I took the rest of them back home, I won't use them and i will try to keep it as long as i can, as I hope I can always smell the pleasant odour when I miss her ... lourdes

I am alright now, and i am well prepared myself on my work tomorrow, I think keep on working can help me to recover from "Cocoa Depression Syndrome". These are all the letters, bills, maps from Cocoa Island, I will keep them all for the rest of my life ... lourdes

First time I visited a travel agent about 18 years old. I felt this is a quite interesting job.

Afterward, I really get a chance working at the travel agent with the direction I also looking for.

I serve my customers I'm not really only treat them as a customers, they are my friends too.

Everytime I suggest them are all from my heart, I'm so glad if they tell me they fall in love with

this place was my suggestion after they come back or when I got the post card from them. This

i saw tiggerfish in maldives, dangerous to swimmers!!!

according to local information, there are several kinds of fishes which are dangerous to swimmers, i saw all of them.

ray and baby shark are relatively harmless.

the middle one is tiggerfish which is the most dangerous one. sometimes they attack swimmers to protect their nests and eggs.................................................gunwai

have a good look at the middle one, it should be the tigger fish. i saw it everyday and luckily it didnt attack me. i only know it on the 2nd last day when i left cocoa island. if i knew its danger, i wouldnt move so close to take this photo!!!!

Under Water World in Maldives

The underwater world in Maldives is so amazing, that was my first time to see so many fishes in the sea ...... Zita
Top Left and Right: You can find different kind of devil ray in White Sand Resorts ( Now called Diva Resort & Spa ). Actually I was quite scare, so each time when I walked into the sea, I carefully looked around, saw whether there was devil ray or not.
Bottom Left: I took this pic when I was snorkeling at the lagoon.
Bottom Right: I remember I saw them in a cartoon, can anyone tell me what is the name of these fishes?

Goodbye ... My Cocoa Island, Maldives

This is my second stamp from Maldives. I've been there 6 years ago, I cannot remember how i felt when i left Maldives. In these 6 years, I travelled many places, tried to find one place that I love the most. And finally, I find two places I love, Greenland and Alaska! Maldives was still not my dream place to go yet. However, after my five days staying in Maldives this time, I find i fall in love with Maldives, i never want to leave this place and I left my tears in Cocoa Island, thank you for the one who recommend me to go Maldives ... lourdes
